In the Footsteps of Faith and Freedom: The Spiritual Roots of Revolutionary Philadelphia (North of Market) (TT21077)
with Staff Dialogue Institute
NEW Under William Penn’s "Holy Experiment," Philadelphia became a sanctuary where diverse faiths didn't just coexist - they shaped the moral and intellectual landscape of a new nation. These walking tours take you through the cobblestone streets where the fight for spiritual and civil liberty intertwined. Discover how the nation's founding documents were influenced by our city's religious and cultural diversity: believers, dissenters, and reformers who demanded a society built on conscience. Entrance to venues subject to availability. (3 Feet: Extensive Walking and Lengthy Periods of Standing.)
North of Market: Arch Street Friends Meetinghouse, Christ Church, Congrgation Mikveh Israel, the President's House and more.

250 Talking Art: A Nation of Artists Exhibition at the PMA and PAFA (TT51025)
with Cordula Grewe
NEW Across PMA and PAFA, A Nation of Artists appears less as a patriotic survey than as a contested question: who is allowed to picture America, and who is pictured in return? Prof. Grewe's tour follows the exhibition’s dual structure—PMA’s chronology and PAFA’s thematic encounters—to test the promise of national belonging against histories of expansion, inclusion, patronage and reinvention. We will explore American art as argument, inheritance, cultural unifier and unfinished civic work. (3 Feet: Extensive Walking and Lengthy Periods of Standing.)
The Lazaretto: Epidemics, Quarantine and Philadelphia (TT61062)
with Staff Lazaretto Foundation
Along the riverfront in Tinicum Township is the Americas’ oldest surviving quarantine facility. Built first in response to devastating yellow fever epidemics, it was the gateway to Philadelphia where all arriving ships, passengers, and cargos were inspected and quarantined if necessary. Enjoy a guided tour of this “monument to a hidden history” and learn the legacy of how cities protected themselves before laboratory medicine and germ theory; when quarantine looked and felt very different from that of COVID-19. (2 Feet: Moderate Walking; Some Periods of Standing.)
